In March 2021, I wrote a feature story about the future of high-speed rail in the U.S. and Wisconsin. The story details the history of high-speed rail in Wisconsin and looks at why the future of transportation in the U.S. should and likely will include high-speed rail. The article features interviews with several transportation experts and former Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, who nearly piloted a high-speed rail system in the state before exiting office in early 2011.
